Kate + Justin Crested Butte Wedding
Justin and Kate decided to get married in February in Crested Butte, Colorado with the snowy Rocky Mountains as their backdrop. A special family destination for Justin, the town’s authenticity and charm appealed to Kate as a perfectly romantic destination. The couple truly showcased all that Crested Butte had to offer- from farm-to-table dinners, to cat skiing on untouched powder, to an intimate ceremony at a quintessential mountain lodge.
The stand out gathering of the 3 event-weekend was a gambling-inspired cocktail party set at a mountain yurt, nestled in an evergreen grove on the Crested Butte Nordic trail system. Guests donned nordic skis and skied, in the dark with guides, to a sumptuous cocktail party complete with a gypsy jazz band, 2 poker games, a custom bar menu and heavy passed and stationary appetizers.
Kate and Justin’s ceremony and reception took place at the Taylor River Lodge. In front of a roaring fire Kate and Justin said their vows. A beautiful plated dinner followed, served with live bluegrass-infused acoustic music in the background and amidst candlelight. Homemade marshmallow s’mores rounded out the evening. A thoroughly one-of-a-kind weekend of celebration for family and friends was the goal for Kate and Justin; one that was achieved!
